Building the identity

We had a name. We knew how we wanted it to feel. We just had no idea what it should look like.

After finding the name YEOUBI, the next question was obvious:

What does YEOUBI look like?

The answer?

We had no idea.

No logo.

No colours.

No established visual direction.

We had a name.

That was it.

Draw. Delete. Repeat.

I tried making the logo myself.

I drew.

And drew.

And drew some more.

I tried different apps, different ideas, different styles.

Nothing worked.

So I started reaching out to people I knew — friends who were good at posters, design, logos, and other creative work.

But there was a problem.

Even they were confused about what exactly we wanted.

And I understood why.

I couldn't explain exactly what the logo should look like.

But I knew exactly how it should feel.

A feeling before a design

I wanted YEOUBI to carry pure streetwear energy.

Not just through a logo.

Through everything.

At the same time, I didn't want it to be overly loud or funky.

I wanted something minimal.

Something clean.

Something that still felt unmistakably like streetwear.

Streetwear and minimalism can sometimes feel like opposites.

But somewhere between those two ideas was exactly where I wanted YEOUBI to exist.

I could see the feeling.

I just couldn't turn it into a logo.

Then I called my brother.

Eventually, I reached out to my brother.

He creates logos for companies, but more importantly, he's someone who genuinely enjoys making creative things.

He was busy.

Really busy.

Finding the time wasn't easy.

But eventually, he made the time.

And then he sent me the logo.

I remember seeing it for the first time.

That was it.

I loved it immediately.

There was no: "Maybe try another version."

No: "Let's explore a few more options."

I didn't need to see anything else.

I was fully satisfied.

For the first time, YEOUBI didn't just have a name.

It had a face.

Red. White. YEOUBI.

The identity took shape around a bold red grid background, with the YEOUBI name set in white.

Simple.

Minimal.

But still carrying the streetwear energy I had been looking for from the beginning.

And people liked it.

It felt right.

It felt like YEOUBI.

Is this the exact identity we'll have forever?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

The colour scheme might evolve.

The way the logo is placed might change.

The visual world around it will probably continue to grow as the brand grows.

But the typography — the logo itself — is something we don't see changing anytime soon.

Because after all the drawings, experiments, failed attempts, and confusion, we finally found something that felt like us.

An identity that can evolve

YEOUBI is still at the beginning.

And just like the clothes, the website, the photography, and everything else we create, the visual identity will continue to evolve.

But this was the first time the idea became visible.

First, we had an idea.

Then, we gave it a name.

And finally — YEOUBI had an identity.

Now, it had a face.
